«The Ducks have Perry and Getzlaf and neither has a point so far - something which will not continue. »

They both have a point since yesterday.

I would say LA.

Last year, most everyone said they would right the ship and sail into the playoffs and even be CUP contenders.

This start coupled with last years disappointment MUST worry them some. Many star players, but even if you go to the year they won the Cup the finished 8th and were NOT a good scoring team. This lack of fire power is NOT a 4 game sample, but rather an issue that has been there for several years.

I agree with Tanner. Neither one has a reason to worry YET. Kings issue scoring goals goes back 4 years. Goals will start going in for the Ducks. That being said, even though the Ducks won last night, they really didn't play well. Wild had extended play in Ducks defensive zone.

I don't think either should be too concerned. Of the two, it has to be LAK that is more concerned. They controlled play in most games last year and still missed out on the playoffs. It looks like a continuation of that so far this season.

Maybe Quick is settling back in, 2 goals given up in 2 games. Seeing the puck much better.
In general the last 2 games are Kings hockey, grind out, forecheck hard and keep the shots to the outside.

And Tim, have you seen the Ducks play lately, they are not playing good hockey right now. They did make lots of changes in the off season, and it is going to take time for them to adjust.

The timing of posting this blog is interesting, both Kings and Ducks win last night.

Last couple of games have been pretty good for Quick, not sure if you do head to head or a rolling season stat format.

I'm not sure how fantasy hockey works. But Andersen has a save% of .947 and a GAA of 1.56. He's looking just fine thank you.

The sharks get Martin Jones and fear the fin puts out some garbage that quick is the most over-rated player in the league. Seems like Chiasson is running with this one. It's just ironic coming from the sharks, how many times has quick robbed Marleau or couture on the doorstep to preserve a series.

The sharks have never beaten the kings in the postseason since 2011 and that year kopitar was hurt. Until jones does anything in the playoffs.... Yaaawn.

Either way I will take over-rated with 2 cups and a conne smythe.

Don't forget the stoning of Pavelski... I'll take the over-rated to the untested.

Quick has the ability to be the best goalie in the world when the playoffs come around. He's consistently incredible in the postseason.

He's inconsistent at best during the regular season though.

You get more points for wins and shutouts and get penalized for losses. So not great.

A bad start to a season means nothing. Teams go 2-3 all the time during the season and no one seems to care. Ok so the Kings started 0-3, well now they're 2-0 in the last 2 playing much better hockey. SJ started 6-0 last year I believe, how far did that get them again?
Neither team should be concerned this early in the season

head to head

wins were done by the middle of the week. no chance of catching up. and while my gaa and save% weren't atrocious, the other guys goalies were too far ahead and just had to be decent to maintain those category wins

through the first few games quicks numbers were too brutal for Anderson to cover up for.
and Anderson wasn't providing wins to help much in that category either.

end of the day, it was just a joke.

Tim can occasionally be a Heyward/homer (same difference)
I am pleasantly surprised by the Kings play last couple of games. I was doom and glooming but after the last two games, I feel like all will be fine. Both the Ducks and Kings have new guys to work in, no worries for either team at this point.

Jim Fox is twice the homer "Heyward" is. Fox literally shouted "Nooo!" during the game last night when he saw an Avs sporting chance developing. Dude doesn't even try to hide his homerism anymore.
